They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cornerstone Charter 58-31 at home. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Piedmont Classical considering their 16-point performance the match before.
Leading Piedmont Classical to victory were Keniya Waring and Ge'Kayla Goins. Waring dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Goins scored 21 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Waring scored 15 or more points. Marti Holley was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six steals.
When it comes to explaining why Cornerstone Charter lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kaylen Williamson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 61.3% of Cornerstone Charter's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Stephens, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Cornerstone Charter struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Piedmont Classical racked up 11 assists.
Piedmont Classical's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Cornerstone Charter, they bumped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
