The biggest upset of the week belonged to Yerba Buena, who took down 1037th ranked Del Mar, 21-12.
Angel Guillen and Christian Nielsen provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Andrew Hill. The connection went for 59 yards, the longest such play in West Valley this season.
Akeem Aziz was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 161 yards as Overfelt fell to the Falcons. Jeremiah Veu also contributed to the rushing game with 107 yards on the ground.
Nielsen was the best wideout in the league this week as the Panthers lost to Andrew Hill. Nielsen tallied four receptions for 89 yards. Simon Hegaard helped Prospect's passing attack out by catching one ball for 55 yards.
Nico Juarez put up the best numbers through the air as Evergreen Valley fell to San Jose. He finished with a total of 12 completions for 126 yards and one touchdown. Juarez's favorite target this week was Jose Mares, who caught six passes for 80 yards.
Prospect's Guillen and Daniel Newson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading West Valley in both passing and receiving yards. Guillen has thrown for 770 yards this season, while Newson, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 28 catches for 422 yards. Aziz from the Royals leads the league in rushing with 825 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Mike Suarez's team takes on the Bulldogs. The Panthers are in fifth place, while San Jose is in first place.
The Bulldogs extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Cougars, 17-10. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
