After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, Southwick Regional finally came back down to earth  on Friday. They took  a  7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ware Indians. The  game marked the Rams' lowest-scoring  contest so far this season.

 Anna Novak spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned  (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those 13  strikeouts set a new season-high mark for  her.

Southwick Regional's  loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-4.
