After flying high against the Churchville-Chili Saints last Friday, The Webster Schroeder Warriors came back down to earth. The contest between Webster Schroeder and East/World of Inquiry wasn't particularly close, with Webster Schroeder falling 28-14. While losing is never fun, Webster Schroeder can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 128th, while East/World of Inquiry is ranked 28th).
Webster Schroeder's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Drew Hilfiker, who threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns.
Zymier Jackson was his usual excellent self, throwing for 260 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Anthony Diaz was in the mix as well, providing East/World of Inquiry with two touchdowns.
Webster Schroeder now has a losing record at 4-5. As for East/World of Inquiry, their victory was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0.
Webster Schroeder does not have any more games scheduled as of now. East/World of Inquiry will be playing at home against Canandaigua Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Canandaigua Academy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
