Basketball Recap: Clover Park Comes Up Short

Clover Park lost against Lakes back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Clover Park Timberwolves fell 60-47 to the Lakes Lancers. That's two games in a row now that the Timberwolves have lost by exactly 13 points.

Despite the loss, Clover Park still got an impressive performance from Andralynne Harless, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Harless is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahriana Mamea, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards.

Even though they lost, Clover Park smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Lakes' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ehmarii Mcchristian, who posted 20 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Mcchristian a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Samara Oliver, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards.

Clover Park now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Lakes, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Clover Park won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lakes, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Timberline at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lakes is facing Timberline at the right time seeing as Timberline is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
