Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Denver Academy). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Gilpin County Eagles 71-26. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Mustangs had established a 35 point advantage.

Denver Academy was led to victory by Riley Allen and Luc Stanley. Allen dropped a triple-double on 23 points, ten assists, and ten steals, while Stanley went 13 for 24 on his way to 29 points and six steals. The dominant performance gave Allen a new career-high in assists. Joel Decker was another key player, putting up eight points and nine rebounds.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Denver Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gilpin County only posted six assists.

Despite the loss, Gilpin County still got an impressive performance from Sutton Sirayanone, who posted six points and 13 boards.

Denver Academy's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-4. As for Gilpin County, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Denver Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 75-48 loss against Flatirons Academy on the 16th. As for Gilpin County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 85-40 defeat against Union Colony Prep on the 17th.
