Stuart W. Cramer has gone 8-2 against East Gaston recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Storm will head out to challenge the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Stuart W. Cramer earned a 6-2 victory over North Gaston. That's two games straight that the Storm have won by exactly four runs.
Hadley Womack made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Womack was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dani Tejada, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.
Meanwhile, East Gaston came tearing into Monday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.1 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 14 contests by nine runs or more so far this season.
Like Stuart W. Cramer, East Gaston also got a great game from a two-way player: Kyndall Godley. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Godley was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March.
In other batting news, Kendra Anderson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Lexi Wheeler, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
East Gaston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Gaston didn't got any hits.
East Gaston pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Stuart W. Cramer, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-9.
Stuart W. Cramer might still be hurting after the 20-3 defeat they got from East Gaston in their previous matchup back in February. Can the Storm avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
