The Del Norte Nighthawks fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took down Ramona 42-28 on Friday. This was payback for Del Norte, who suffered a 49-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Leading Del Norte to victory were Ty Olsen and Jack Schneider. Olsen picked up 189 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Schneider threw for 309 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes. Olsen's longest reception was for an incredible 90 yards.
Del Norte's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Ramona, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
Del Norte does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ramona will look to defend their home field on Friday against Fallbrook at 7:00 p.m.
