Bishop Fenwick hasn't had much luck against Archbishop McNicholas recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Falcons will head out to take on the Rockets at 5:00 p.m. Bishop Fenwick will be strutting in after a win while Archbishop McNicholas will be coming in after a defeat.
Bishop Fenwick took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Archbishop Alter a 14-0 shutout. The Falcons not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 22nd (when they won 15-0).
Mackenzie Gibbons was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles and four RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Snelling Kinsey, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Myles Carolyn was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Bishop Fenwick always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Archbishop McNicholas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Blanchester.
Natalie Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.
Bishop Fenwick's record is now 5-8. As for Archbishop McNicholas, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.
Bishop Fenwick suffered a grim 18-1 defeat to Archbishop McNicholas when the teams last played back in April. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
