Make it six blowout wins for the Rivercrest Colts this season. They blew past Osceola 53-22 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-10.
Rivercrest was led to victory by Zakiyah Brownlee and Destiny Burks. Brownlee scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks, while Burks scored 20 points along with six steals and five assists. That's the first time this season that Brownlee scored 15 or more points. Mykayla Banks was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five assists and five steals.
Rivercrest's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.33 points. As for Osceola, they have fallen quite a ways from their 15-4 record last season and are now at 2-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rivercrest won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Corning at 5:00 p.m. on January 12th. Corning is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games. Osceola on the road again on Monday and play against Manila at 7:00 p.m. on January 15th. Manila presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Osceola in Arkansas (Manila is ranked 59th, while Osceola is ranked 234th).
