Baseball Recap: Largo Has No Trouble Against Zephyrhills

After only two runs in their last contest, Largo made sure to put some runs up on the board against Zephyrhills on Monday. Largo was the clear victor by a 16-2 margin over Zephyrhills. Considering the Packers have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Victor Martinez-Morales, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anthony Jones, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Largo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Zephyrhills only posted an OBP of .333.

Largo's record now sits at 13-3. As for Zephyrhills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Largo will head out to challenge Palm Harbor University at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palm Harbor University will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Largo surely won't give up without a fight. As for Zephyrhills, they will be playing at home against Land O' Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Land O' Lakes' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Zephyrhills' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
