The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Platte Valley in their matchups with Resurrection Christian: they've now lost eight in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Platte Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Braylon Edstrom. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points. Edstrom hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games. Regan Edstrom was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Platte Valley struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Resurrection Christian pulled down 11 offensive rebounds.
Resurrection Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacob Barker out in front who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Crutcher, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Platte Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Resurrection Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.
Platte Valley will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Frontier Academy at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Platte Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for Resurrection Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Sterling at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sterling is coming into the match with seven straight victories at home, meaning Resurrection Christian will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
