Flagler/Hi-Plains had trouble last Saturday, and unfortunately for them, their opponent this week is a big step up in difficulty. On Friday they take on Peetz at 7:00 PM. Flagler/Hi-Plains have seen their point totals decreasing over the past four games, a vulnerability Peetz are surely hoping to exploit.
Flagler/Hi-Plains suffered a grim 28-54 defeat to Arickaree/Woodlin. Flagler/Hi-Plains got a solid performance out of sophomore Zayd Banks, who rushed for 87 yards and 2 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. Banks has been a consistent playmaker for Flagler/Hi-Plains as this was the 5th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, don't be fooled by the insanely high score: we promise Peetz and Briggsdale were playing football. Peetz enjoyed a cozy 101-85 win over Briggsdale. The success made it back-to-back wins for Peetz.
Peetz's victory lifted them to 3-2 while Flagler/Hi-Plains's defeat dropped them down to 2-3. In their win, Peetz relied heavily on senior Bryson Long, who rushed for 256 yards and 6 touchdowns. Flagler/Hi-Plains will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
