With a playoff game on the line, Nazarene Christian Academy rose to the challenge on Friday. They claimed a resounding 76-30 victory over Heritage Christian on the road. Winning may never get old, but Nazarene Christian Academy sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Dominic Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 202 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, while also picking up 109 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Carlos Canelos was another major influence, as he rushed for 105 yards and ran in a TD.
Meanwhile, after only eight points in their last contest, Azle Christian made sure to put some points up on the board against Kingdom Prep Academy on Thursday. Azle Christian simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Kingdom Prep Academy 59-30 on the road.
Azle Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brodie Clark out in front who rushed for 231 yards and a touchdown while picking up 12.8 yards per carry. Clark was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards. A.J. Rollins was another major influence, as he rushed for 73 yards and ran in a TD.
Nazarene Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Azle Christian, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-3.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Nazarene Christian Academy has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 236.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Azle Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 174.5 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
