The Coronado Dons had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They pulled ahead with a 37-36 photo finish over Tempe. The victory was just what Coronado needed coming off of a 65-19 loss in their prior contest.
Leading Coronado to victory were Aundrea Rodriguez and Ariel Douglas. Rodriguez scored nine points, while Douglas scored nine points along with 21 rebounds and four steals. Douglas is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played.
Coronado's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12. As for Tempe, they bumped their record down to 1-13 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Dysart the next time they take the court. Coronado will host Dysart at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Tempe will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
