The Hueneme Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Channel Islands, falling 63-26. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hueneme in their matchups with Channel Islands: they've now lost six in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Hueneme lost, one person who can't be blamed is Joseph Richardson. Despite the final result, he scored eight points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Channel Islands to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jevon Bobbsemple, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rajai Moody, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Hueneme's defeat was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Channel Islands, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hueneme will take on Carpinteria at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Channel Islands, they will head out on the road to face off against Cate at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
