Softball Recap: Andrews Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Andrews won against Frenship last Friday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Mustangs beat the Greenwood Rangers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 14-3. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Arianna Sanchez, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Noemi Ortiz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Andrews always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Andrews' win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for Greenwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8-1.
