Hilliard Darby proved they can win big  on Thursday (they won by 13) and  on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Lancaster Golden Gales  6-4. The  victory was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won four  matchups in a row.
 Cooper Gilkerson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered  just two earned  (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  tossed less than seven  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Hilliard Darby's win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 16-11. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lancaster,  with the  loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-5.
