Cardinal Spellman is 0-3 against St. Francis Prep since October of 2022 but things could change  on Sunday. The Pilots will take on the Terriers at 1:00  p.m. Cardinal Spellman has given up an average of 33.5  points per game this season, but Sunday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Cardinal Spellman came into their game  two weeks ago off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by St. John the Baptist 63-12. The Pilots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  43-0.
Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask St. Francis Prep). They really took it to Kennedy Catholic for the full four quarters, racking up  a  54-14 win. With that  victory, the Terriers brought their scoring average up to 26.1  points per game.
Cardinal Spellman better keep an eye on  Sean Ibert. He was instrumental in St. Francis Prep's win, rushing for 122 yards and three  touchdowns on only six carries. Those  three  rushing touchdowns gave  Ibert a new career-high.  Rocco Petronella was another key player, picking up 78 receiving yards and a pair of  scores.
 St. Francis Prep didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Kennedy Catholic to a completion percentage of just 37.5%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players:  Anthony Brown,  Rafael Espinal,  and  Roderick Fordham, who each logged one passes deflected. St. Francis Prep has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.6 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.6 in their last three games.
 St. Francis Prep now  has a winning record of 4-3. As for Cardinal Spellman, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
 Cardinal Spellman took a serious blow against St. Francis Prep  when the teams last played  back in October of 2024, falling  35-6. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of  the Terriers'  Jack Leary, who threw for 127 yards and two  TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes.
