Langham Creek has gone 9-1 against Cypress Lakes recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Cypress Lakes' hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Langham Creek hadn't allowed a single run the last five times they've hit the field. Langham Creek blew past Waller 10-0 on Tuesday. Considering the Lobos have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Karli Challburg was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Mckenna Simmons was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Izabella Amato-Ramirez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Langham Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in seven consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Cypress Lakes fell victim to Bridgeland and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Bears, falling 18-0.
Langham Creek pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.2 runs. As for Cypress Lakes, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
Cypress Lakes' hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Langham Creek has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Cypress Lakes, though, as they've been averaging only 3.4 strikeouts. Will Langham Creek keep running through batters, or will Cypress Lakes buck the trend?
