The Ridgeview Christian Crusaders will head out on the road to face off against the Roanoke Valley Christian EAGLES at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ridgeview Christian is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Monday, Ridgeview Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-39 to Blue Ridge Christian. While losing is never fun, Ridgeview Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 334th, while Blue Ridge Christian is ranked 112th).
Meanwhile, sadly, Roanoke Valley Christian is still looking for their first win of the season after 15 games. They were outmatched by Craig County on the road and fell 51-17.
Ridgeview Christian has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Roanoke Valley Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-15.
Everything came up roses for Ridgeview Christian against Roanoke Valley Christian in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 53-23 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ridgeview Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
