After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Paradise, The Whitesboro Bearcats were happy to have found some success on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 47-14 victory over Ponder. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Whitesboro's nine-point performance the matchup before.
Leading Whitesboro to victory were Karter Sluder and Maxx Parker. Sluder gained 97 total yards and three touchdowns, while Parker rushed for 192 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gage Ersch, who rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown.
Whitesboro's victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Ponder, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
Whitesboro will head out on the road to face off against Jim Ned at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jim Ned will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Ponder does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
