The Platteview Trojans are taking a road trip to  challenge the Crete Cardinals  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Crete took a loss in their last  contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Platteview, who comes in off a win.
Platteview's pitching crew heads into the  game  hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed  on Monday. They walked away with  a   3-0  win over Arlington. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive  victory against them.

 Bryson Banks tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only  one  hit while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Platteview is 4-1 when  Banks allows two or  fewer  hits, but 7-8 otherwise.
 At the plate, Platteview secured the  win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was  Easton Harris, who  went 1-for-2 with two  stolen bases and one  run. That's the most  stolen bases  Harris has posted since back in March of 2024.  Dylan Thomas was another,  earning one  run and two  stolen bases.
 Platteview  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arlington struck out 12 times.
 Meanwhile, Crete came up short against Nebraska City on Tuesday and fell  6-1.
 Crete's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Platteview, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
 Platteview took their  win against Crete  in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024 by a conclusive  10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
