You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Atholton Raiders's strategy against the Wilde Lake Wildecats on Monday. Atholton walked away with a 66-59 victory over Wilde Lake. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Atholton.
Atholton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deion Dent, who scored 16 points along with five assists and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Inabinet, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Atholton's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points per game. As for Wilde Lake, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.
Atholton's road trip will continue as they head out to face Long Reach at 5:30 p.m. on February 14th. Long Reach will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something Atholton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wilde Lake, they will square off against Howard at TBD on Wednesday. Wilde Lake knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Howard likes a good challenge.
