First Colonial has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Deep Creek Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Ocean Lakes scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, First Colonial still came out on top. First Colonial took their game against the Dolphins 63-55.
Meanwhile, Deep Creek waltzed into their matchup on Friday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They were the clear victor by a 57-37 margin over Indian River. Deep Creek has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.
First Colonial is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-11 record this season. As for Deep Creek, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with that win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
First Colonial was dealt a bruising 73-36 defeat at the hands of the Hornets when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can First Colonial avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
