The Stillwater Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Waterford-Halfmoon Fordians at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Stillwater will be strutting in after a victory while Waterford-Halfmoon will be coming in after a defeat.
Stillwater proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hoosic Valley, sneaking past 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since April 23, 2024.

Avery Murray spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 11 Ks. Stillwater is 2-1 when Murray posts eight or more strikeouts, but 1-8 otherwise.
At the plate, Kaden Burdo was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Braeden Grennan also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Waterford-Halfmoon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They fell 6-3 to Galway.
Jack Gilbert put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out 12 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up six earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jason Fraim made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. Logan Kelly was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Stillwater pushed their record up to 3-9 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Waterford-Halfmoon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
Stillwater was able to grind out a solid victory over Waterford-Halfmoon in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
