After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Trinity Academy, the Garden Plain Owls were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Rose Hill 54-25 at home. That's another feather in the cap for Garden Plain, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Garden Plain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alayna Hoheisel, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Reese Stuhlsatz, who scored 14 points.
When it comes to explaining why Rose Hill lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lanie Page. Despite the final result, she scored six points.
Garden Plain pushed their record up to 1-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Rose Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Garden Plain will head out on the road to face off against Hesston at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hesston presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Garden Plain in Kansas (Hesston is ranked 35th, while Garden Plain is ranked 195th). As for Rose Hill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Nickerson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
