The Granger Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They were beaten by West Jordan 77-49. Granger has struggled against West Jordan recently, as their game on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Granger's loss came despite strong showings from Daudi Aweyso and Jayden Silas. Aweyso scored 17 points along with seven rebounds, while Silas scored eight points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 34.7% of Granger's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Henry Tidwell, who scored four points along with two steals.
West Jordan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Colton Blackham, who scored 18 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Blackham hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinton Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Granger's defeat was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-16. As for West Jordan, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Granger will take on Hunter at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Granger focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday. As for West Jordan, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Kearns at 7:00 p.m. Kearns has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 358 points over their last five matches.
