The Florence Huskies scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Ellicott 80-23 at home. That 57 points margin sets a new team best for Florence this season.
Florence had a senior duo take command as Gunnar Phillips dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 steals and Gage Goodall scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Phillips is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaret Lozano, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Florence and bumps their season record up to 6-9. As for Ellicott, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
Florence will head out on the road to face off against Manitou Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ellicott, they will be playing at home against Rye at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
