The Marbury Bulldogs posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They had just enough and edged Elmore County out 48-45. The win made it back-to-back wins for Marbury.
Marbury's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but DJ Graham led the charge by scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Graham pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jacob Driver, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Marbury's win bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Elmore County, they bumped their record down to 1-12 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marbury the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Montevallo at 5:00 p.m. on January 16th. Montevallo presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Marbury in Alabama (Montevallo is ranked 141st, while Marbury is ranked 389th). As for Elmore County, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Marbury at 6:30 p.m.
