The River Valley Dust Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Parker, falling 69-16. River Valley has struggled against the Broncs recently, as their game on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, River Valley had strong showings from Amiah Welt, who scored five points along with 14 rebounds and two steals, and Estelle Rey, who scored three points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Rey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.
River Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Parker, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. River Valley will challenge the Minotaur at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Odyssey Institute's defense has only allowed 28.2 points per game this season, so the Dust Devils' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Parker, they will head out on the road to square off against the Phoenix at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Tonopah Valley is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home.
