The Eldon Mustangs waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against St. Elizabeth by a score of 71-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Sydney Halderman, who scored 36 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Delaney Mcghay, who scored 13 points.
Eldon's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for St. Elizabeth, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.
Eldon's road trip will continue as they head out to face Cuba at 12:00 p.m. on January 25th. As for St. Elizabeth, they will be playing at home against Fatima at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fatima presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. Elizabeth in Missouri (Fatima is ranked 29th, while St. Elizabeth is ranked 92nd).
