7A District 1 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Lincoln's Cameron Lang recorded the longest rushing play in 7A District 1 this season in his game against Forest last week. Lang's team defeated the Wildcats as he sprinted for 66 yards on the play and finished with 124 in all.
Lincoln extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Forest, 35-28. The victory was the eighth in a row for Yusuf Shakir's team.
The Trojans' dynamic duo of Cameron Joseph and Myles Gaines proved tough for David Hodges' team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Joseph threw for 240 yards and one touchdown and Gaines had 106 yards receiving. Reggie Davis helped Lincoln's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 81 yards.
Kenny Scott was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 129 yards on 17 carries as Buchholz topped the Wildcats. Teammate Bryce Goston added to the ground attack by rushing for 42 yards.
Chiles's Ben Hatch and Mike Dunn have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 7A District 1 in both passing and receiving yards. Hatch has thrown for 1589 yards this season, while Dunn has 37 catches for 518 yards. Scott from the Bobcats leads the league in rushing with 1254 yards.
Buchholz made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,165 from 2,761. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 34-7 victory over West Port last week.
