After a string of three wins, the Knott County Central Patriots's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a serious blow against Gatlinburg-Pittman, falling 76-39. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Knott County Central has scored all season.
Gatlinburg-Pittman's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ty Glasper, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The contest was Glasper's 15th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Orr, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Knott County Central's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Gatlinburg-Pittman, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.
Knott County Central will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cordia at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Gatlinburg-Pittman and Bullitt Central will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Bullitt Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 162nd in Kentucky, while Gatlinburg-Pittman is ranked 31st in Tennessee).
