Meanwhile, Effingham waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Greenville by a score of 40-29.
Mattoon's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Effingham, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.
