Basketball Recap: Ribault Drops Highest Score of Season Against First Coast

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ribault). They blew past the First Coast Buccaneers 90-50 on Monday. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ribault to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaleb McDuffie, who went 7 of 12 en route to 17 points and seven assists. McDuffie has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jamian Jackson, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 11 points along with five assists and four steals.

Ribault smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive matches.

First Coast's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dakari Johnson, who posted 12 points. Elijah Gooden was another key player, putting up six points and ten boards.

Ribault has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which lines up perfectly with their 12-4 record this season. As for First Coast, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Ribault has already played their next contest (against Palm Beach Lakes), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. First Coast will take on Sandalwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. First Coast is facing Sandalwood at the right time seeing as Sandalwood is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
