The Stagg Delta Kings will be taking part in a tournament against the Orestimba Warriors at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Stagg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Stagg took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Tokay, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Delta Kings narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Tigers 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Delta Kings have posted since March 1st.

Aerie Garcia was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rachael Symoungkhoune, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Ava Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Orestimba made easy work of Escalon on Thursday and carried off a 14-8 victory. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won six in a row.
Lexi Alves was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Mariah Avila was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Orestimba kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Orestimba's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-9. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Stagg, their record now sits at 12-5.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Stagg hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. However, it's not like Orestimba struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
