The Piedmont Community Charter Patriots came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Bradford Prep with points to spare, taking the game 69-54. That's another feather in the cap for Piedmont Community Charter, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Piedmont Community Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than John Carmichael, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Carmichael is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Bobby Erwin was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Bradford Prep's loss came despite strong showings from Jeremiah Jones and Isaiah Poston. Jones dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Poston scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Poston has scored all season.
Piedmont Community Charter is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Bradford Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-8.
Piedmont Community Charter will be playing in front of their home fans against Queen's Grant at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Piedmont Community Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 matchups -- so hopefully Queen's Grant likes a good challenge. Bradford Prep's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mountain Island Charter at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Bradford Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday.
