The Tolono Unity Rockets lost against the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Tolono Unity took a 47-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mahomet-Seymour. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tolono Unity in their matchups with Mahomet-Seymour: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Rockets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Raegen Stringer, who scored 17 points. Stringer scored a full 39.5% of Tolono Unity's points, the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Reagan Little was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Tolono Unity's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Mahomet-Seymour, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
Tolono Unity will head out on the road to face off against Mt. Zion at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Mt. Zion presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tolono Unity in Illinois (Mt. Zion is ranked 87th, while Tolono Unity is ranked 302nd). Mahomet-Seymour will be home for the holidays to greet Taylorville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Taylorville is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
