The Jacobs Golden Eagles suffered their closest loss yet this season on Saturday. They fell just short of St. Charles North by a score of 69-67. Jacobs has struggled against St. Charles North recently, as their match on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Jacobs' loss came despite strong showings from Treval Howard and Ben Jurzak. Howard scored 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Jurzak scored 30 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jurzak has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jake Bouchard, who scored three points along with seven rebounds.
Jacobs' defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for St. Charles North, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
Jacobs will head out on the road to face off against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Charles North, they will face off against Palatine at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Palatine presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. Charles North in Illinois (Palatine is ranked 38th, while St. Charles North is ranked 289th).
