The Stadium Tigers will face off against the Mt. Rainier Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Stadium took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Auburn Riverside, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers skirted past the Ravens 10-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Stadium let Kylie Mick and London Kim run wild. Mick went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Kim went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double. Those three RBI gave Mick a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaynie Galindo, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Stadium was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Auburn Riverside only posted a batting average of .312.
Meanwhile, Mt. Rainier had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Conquerors.
Kadence Avila Petitt made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Makayla Oliver was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kendall Parker, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Stadium's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Mt. Rainier, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Stadium hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .326. However, it's not like Mt. Rainier struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Stadium couldn't quite finish off Mt. Rainier when the teams last played back in April and fell 7-5. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
