It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the University School of Jackson Bruins can now relate to. They had to suffer through a rough 48-11 loss at the hands of Christ Presbyterian Academy. University School of Jackson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-3.
Among those leading the charge was Josh Mayernick, who rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Josh Jennings got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
University School of Jackson's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Christ Presbyterian Academy, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. University School of Jackson will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Chattanooga Christian at 7:07 p.m. on December 11th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Chattanooga Christian is ranked 103rd, while University School of Jackson is ranked 113th). As for Christ Presbyterian Academy, they will stay at home for another week and welcome Franklin Road Academy at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Franklin Road Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
