Socorro stacked a third blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 55-0 win over Hot Springs on the road. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Socorro had established a 41 point advantage.
It was another big night for Isaiah Ocampo, who rushed for 169 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 173 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Boykin, who rushed for 80 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries.
Hope Christian fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Ruidoso by a score of 35-28 two weeks ago.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hope Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than RJ Montoya, who threw for 195 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Elijah Saiz was another key contributor, rushing for 146 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Socorro's win was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.11 points. As for Hope Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
