Cherryvale can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 48-41 victory over Yates Center. The score was all tied up 23-23 at the break, but Cherryvale was the better team in the second half.
Cherryvale found their leader in underclassman Leuie Umbarger, who scored 19 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Umbarger has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Fox, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Bluestem's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Cherryvale, their win bumped their record up to 2-9.
