After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Concord, the Lake Norman Charter Knights were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 39-25 victory over Carson. That looming 39-25 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Lake Norman Charter yet this season.
Lake Norman Charter was led to victory by Lucy Courtney and Abby Courtney. Courtney scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and five assists, while Courtney dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 steals. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for her.
Carson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rylee Hedrick, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Carpenter, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Lake Norman Charter's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Carson, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Lake Norman Charter and East Lincoln will round out the year against one another at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th at. Hopefully East Lincoln focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Friday. Carson will be staying on the road on December 28th to face off against A.L. Brown at 3:00 p.m. on December 28th. A.L. Brown will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
