The Minneola Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 68-60 win over Ashland. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Leading Minneola to victory were Levi Lang and Eli Lang. Lang scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Lang dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lang has scored at least a third of Minneola's points. Another player making a difference was Tyson Klotz, who scored ten points.
Minneola's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Ashland, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Minneola will square off against Hodgeman County at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ashland will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pawnee Heights at 8:00 p.m. on January 30th.
