The Baker Gators were the 37-30 winner over the Laurel Hill Hoboes when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Baker fell 50-41 to Laurel Hill on Thursday. Baker has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Baker lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mckenzie Mcgraw, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 39% of Baker's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Katerina Price, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Baker's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Laurel Hill, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Baker won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Gulf Pointe Latin at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Gulf Pointe Latin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday. As for Laurel Hill, they will be playing at home against Baker at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
