The Dresden Lions will square off against the Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Tuesday, Dresden got the win against Union City by a conclusive 11-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.
Jacie West spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaylee Jarred, who went 3-for-4 with seven RBI and one double. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Emma Parham was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four runs.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Dresden kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Houston County a 6-0 shutout. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Fighting Irish recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Madison Holder made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Holder was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central let McKenzye Castleman and Lilly McGee run wild. Castleman went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while McGee went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Keely Williams, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central's victory bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Dresden, their win bumped their record up to 12-13.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Dresden has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .434. However, it's not like Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .465.
