4A Conference 22 recap November 5, 2013
Courtland extended the longest winning streak in 4A Conference 22 this week by beating Chancellor, 34-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Cougars.
Eastern View led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Culpeper County.
On the heels of Jason Brown and Jamal Jones, the Chargers have had great success on offense. Brown leads the league in passing with 698 yards, while Jones has rushed for 512 yards this season. Fauquier's Leif Heltzel leads the league in receiving yards with 257 on 17 catches.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when King George takes on Chancellor. The Foxes are in second place, while Bob Oliver's team is in sixth place.
Liberty made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,911 from 3,381. The improvement was largely due to a 28-26 victory over Kettle Run last week.
