Dawson is 10-0 against Alvin since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Dawson Eagles will be playing at home against the Alvin Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Dawson is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Alvin in Texas (Dawson is ranked 58th, while Alvin is ranked 826th).
After a string of 13 wins, Dawson's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 70-49 walloping at the hands of Shadow Creek. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Dawson has suffered since November 27, 2023.
Charles Anderson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored eight points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Braylon Howard, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Alvin's six-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They managed a 54-50 victory over Alief Hastings.
Dawson's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-7. As for Alvin, their win ended a 20-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 9-16.
Everything came up roses for Dawson against Alvin in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 87-22 victory. Does Dawson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Alvin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
